CWTSatoTravel Manager Focuses on Paying it Forward in Free Time

We wanted to highlight some of the amazing work one of our amazing managers has done with veteran groups. Tina Rodamer joined with Sato Travel back in 1996 and began her career as a travel counselor. She currently works as a manager for our Navy, Army OCONUS, DTA8, and DTA11 accounts.

Tina was inspired by her family and our own CWTCares philanthropic program at a leadership summit in Washington, DC in 2008. One afternoon of the conference was dedicated to showing support for our troops. Tina and other attendees wrote our service members cards showing them support and thanking them for their service to our country, some sewed together squares of fabric with uplifting messages written on them, and others put together goody bags for our service members.

Tina comes from a military family, and there was always an emphasis on supporting our military service members. For instance, Tina's father would invite single soldiers to spend the holidays with her family so they would not spend them alone and donated to various charities such as Wounded Warriors. According to Tina, "I seem drawn to and build friendships with people who do the same and that’s how everywhere I am or move to, I find new ways of contributing to making this world a better place!"

Over the years, Tina has helped her local CWTSatoTravel offices participate in giving back to the military community. Some of these events include a Toys for Tots toy drive in New Orleans, a food drive at Fort Leavenworth, and the Angel Tree program at Redstone Arsenal. More recently, Tina participated in the Blessing Box project, where people take what they need and give what they can for those in need. Tina also supports Mission 22, a group that works to stop suicide among service members and veterans. One of Tina's biggest accomplishments was working to help build a new home for an elderly veteran in need, where Tina and Hearts for Homeless worked to build a new home for an elderly veteran whose living situation had quickly deteriorated.

Thank you to Tina for all the hard work you do for our veterans and in our community!
